82 regular season games, 9 playoff games all come down to 1 moment. Game 6. Do or Die, Win or Go Home, Do or Do Not…. All or Nothing.
This is what Game 6 means to the Canucks. If they win they have a chance at a game 7 at home in front of a very impatient fan base… but that is only if they can do what they have not been able to do in years and that is win a game 6 in the second round.Â
Roberto Luongo has never been this far in his playoff career, and this is when he needs to be at his best. There can be NO soft goals. There can only be the time where he makes that big save that changes the game…. in case you want an example that would have been when it was 2-1 and Chicago scored to tie it last game….. that was that moment. We cannot surrender another like that again or we are Doomed.Â
That being said its not up to Luongo to win this game by himself. The Sedins and Burrows needs to step up big time. Burrows has to stop going back to being a pest and get back into his mode of complimenting the Sedins as a scoring winger. The Sedins have to start shooting again and stop looking for the perfect play.Â
The Defense must stand Tall. no more turnovers. this means from forwards and defenders alike. There can be no compromise.Â
Stay out of the Box or this team will kill us and early.Â
Slow down the Hawks.
Forecheck.
Be Smart
Keep it Simple.
pick a metaphor….
All or Nothing.
Go Canucks Go!
Quotable ~Â Vigneault said those (game 5) penalties were “deserved,” he questioned Bieksa’s penalty on Sunday.
“How we came up short-handed in that scrum I don’t get,” he said. “But at the end of the day you have to deal with bad calls, deal with good calls and find ways to put your best game on the ice. Obviously, so far, they have been the better team.”
I am so goddamned nervous about this game.
Game 5 was just full of jaw-droppingly stupid mistakes, from players that ought to know better.
