Gillis is running out of time for the start of the season and while he may not need to act now things will get more expensive once the season starts.

well this trade today changed my thoughts. yeah I think he is doing a good job to make us better. drafting is spectacular from the canucks history to draw from and he is shoring up areas of weakness.

He needs to make another trade and bring another top forward. He has done a good job of resigning the top guys but he needs to bring in his own players who will make substantial difference to the team.

I think that this comes in stage desi. I dont think we will see that forward until the deadline. We already are above the cap and I think they want to keep this team the way it looks now. and the way it looks now is very good. That can all change of course with an injury but I think we will be competing for top 3 in the conference and top 5 in the league if this group meets their projections and hype. Add a top 6 at the deadline and you have the potential for a juggernaught of a run into the playoffs.

That being said it could all fall apart very easily in this NHL.

its going to be an intriguing season for sure and I think with the signings, trades, drafting and decisions Gillis has made his impact is on this team. One more trade wouldnt change anything for his rating.
