I assume everybody has lots of back-to backs because of the Olympic break. Hope it's not just us, anyways.

that 14 game road trip is a doozy, though :!:

i was going to say that the 14 game road trip is what makes us make the playoffs or not... but really with the way this team is TODAY. Id be surprised if we finished above 7th place.... 9th is a very easy possibility.

good thing we have 2 1/2 months to the season

I actually like our offence more this year. It's the defence I'm worried about. We still have 1 big hold to fill there.

Interesting link looking at everybody's miles travelled
http://www.ontheforecheck.com/2009/7/16 ... orite-team

fwiw we travel 48,200 miles, almost 3,000 fewer than last year.
Calgary travels the most, at more than 55,000.

14 back-to-backs are three more than last year - to be expected in a compressed schedule, I guess.
blackhawks have 19 b2bs! oh well, they are a young team, they can handle it.
Avalanche double their b2bs this year, at 16. oh well, they are a young team, they can handle it.

didnt we have one of the best records in back to backs last year? our Saturday night record was about .500 however and we have 18 or 19 of those? I worry about 2 things

Lou not making Team Canada as the starter
Lou making Team Canada as the starter

reason why if he makes it he will be worn out considering how many games he will get this season with raycroft on backup. if he doesn't make it his season is sucking.....which is average for everyone else.....
