Canucks sign Aaron Rome to 2 year extension
Vancouver Canucks have signed top AHL prospect Corey Schneider to a 2 year $1.8M deal. Corey will likley start with the Canucks this upcoming year.

The Vancouver Canucks signed a trio of young defenceman on Monday.
The club announced that 2008 raft pick Yann Sauve and free agentsLee Sweatt and Chris Tanev agreed to contracts with the team. Terms of the deals were not disclosed.
Sauve, 20, appeared in 61 games with the Saint John Sea Dogs in 2009-10, recording 36 points (7-29-36), +42 and 65 penalty minutes. He also appeared in 21 playoff games in 2010, collecting 15 points (5-10-15) and 36 penalty minutes
Sweatt, 24, split the 2009-10 season between Riga Dynamo (KHL) and TPS Turku (FNL). With the Dynamo, the Elburn, Illinois native recorded seven points (2-5-7) and 18 penalty minutes in 37 games. He also collected 16 points (9-7-16) and eight penalty minutes in 21 games with TPS Turku.
Tanev, 20, spent the 2009-10 season with the Rochester Institute of Technology, notching 28 points (10-18-28) and four penalty minutes in 41 games. He also led his team in plus/minus (+34).
Canucks sign Aaron Volpatti from Brown University.
A strong and hard-hitting forward, Volpatti plays with an aggressive mentality and will continue to be a valuable part of the Brown front line, especially during man-down situations. He spent the majority of last year on the Bears’ second line.

2006-2007: Played in 23 games, earning seven points (5g, 2a), including 3-2-5 numbers in ECAC Hockey contests … Made his collegiate debut in the Bears’ season-opener against Merrimack … Scored his first career goal to tie the game at 1-1 in 2-2 tie at Colgate … Netted his second goal in four games to bring Brown to within 3-2 against RPI; named 3rd star … Scored for the second straight game in 1-1 tie with Princeton … Picked up a point for the third straight game with an assist in 6-3 win over Quinnipiac … Earned an assist at RPI … Scored two of Brown’s goals in 4-3 loss at Princeton in game-three of the ECAC Hockey first-round series, tying the game at 1-1 and again at 2-2 … One of 20 Bears named to the ECAC Hockey All-Academic Team.
Before Brown: Volpatti played for the Vernon Vipers for three seasons prior to joining the Bears … An assistant captain in 2006, Volpatti played in 25 games and notched 14 points (6g, 8a) … Scored five power-play goals and had 39 penalty minutes … Played in 57 games in 2005 and posted 18 points (6g, 12a) … Was ninth on the team with 106 penalty minutes … Played in 55 games in 2004 and finished the year with five points (1g, 4a) and 134 penalty minutes.
