Case Closed. Well so said the NHL last week. In that Span Colin Campbell has gone on Radio out East and Last night on CBC pre game to Vilify our Alex Burrows. While of course we in the Canuck West hold a little (if not a lot in some cases) bias for Burrows I think everyone agrees that the evidence against Auger was damning. The Above video of Coach V defending Alex 100% so vehemently shows a few things.
- Ron McLean hold 1000% bias for the NHL. Not even his Media Background prevented him from embarrassing himself on the way he talked about Burrows and showed the Eastern Video replays of the events that led to this mess. He didn’t talk about the 31 seconds that Auger talked to Burrows pre game (as talked about in the Video) he just pointed out what he felt and he decided to interpret to the delight of the NHL as showing Burrows faking everything.
- The NHL is tainted even more. They are really the bottom of the barrel of the professional league and has no care that their officials change games at their will on ego.
- Coach V loves his team, loves his players and will go to the wall for them each and every-time. This is a makings of a great coach. This will help this team bond through this and the monster road trip up coming.
This needs to go away now and the only way it will is if the NHL just shuts the hell up about it. They seem to be doing all the talking and the Canucks are just responding. Burrows has shut-up about it and the Canucks did to until Colin Campbell decided to run his mouth all week. Coach V called out the NHL last night. He Called out Stephen Auger and we applaud him for it.
On the way out of GM Place last night. Coach V had this last comment.
“I’m not done with our boy Ron,â€
Well Done Coach.
They dug down so deep, that they maligned Burrows for an incident a few years ago where several Canucks and Wings were talking crap to each other in a pre-game skate, and Downey gave Burrows a little poke with his stick across the redline….. Downey got suspended for it, yet McLean still drew it up with Burrows as the villain.
two other examples were Burrows talking …. just talking…. to Chicago’s goalie during breaks in the playoffs last year. Khabibulin responded with a crosscheck, and Burrows again was painted as the villain. you can’t trash talk anymore in the NHL? I tell you one thing, I would have much rather had Byflugien talking to Luongo during that series than running him over every game.
pretty shitty thing Ron McLean did there – but there is no doubt about his allegiances. he’s a ref, after all.
arrghhh. this whole thing still makes me angry. Kudos to AV for standing up so vehemently from Burrows.
