Luongo was spectacular. what a glove save he made. Quick was pretty damn good as well. He looked a little fatigued near the end but he made some highlite reel saves. I cant believe the crowds reaction when Wellwood got his empty netter. it was like we just won a game 7 first round series LOL.. pretty cool with the Lets Go Wellwood chant most of the 3rd period.

Canucks broke their back I think
The Canucks won back to back games in a 6 day span. they also beat the Coloardo Avalanche for the 2nd straight game in a row and for the 3rd time in 4 tries this season. They also have outscored the Avalanche in those 3 wins 16-4. The Avalanche have only lost 6 games in regulation all season with 3 of those coming at the hands of the Canucks.
The Canucks had to do it in 40 minutes. The Avalanche threw everything they had at the Canucks in the 1st and were rewarded with a 2-0 lead going into the second period. Before that the Canucks got a break from the pressure when Sami Salo took a slap shot and broke a pane of glass. This allowed the Canucks who were mostly on their heals to slow down, catch a breath and regroup. They slowed the game down and took a 2-0 deficit into the 2nd period where the Canucks were able to get within a goal and go into the 3rd down 2-1 from a point shot from Christian Erhoff.
The 3rd period saw a 4 goal outburst from, Sedin, Erhoff, Bernier and Samuelson. The Avalanche looked slow and tired as their 3rd game in 4 nights caught up to them as they watched their 2 goal lead slip away to 5 unanswered goals.
The Canucks took a period but they picked up exactly where they left off last sunday playing good, smart hockey once they got their legs going. They will need it when they face the Chicago Blackhawks Sunday night before yes… you guessed it another 3 day break before playing another 3 games in 4 nights next week. What a schedule!
When Does the Season Start? – Wake Up Canuck Fans!

Wake up Sleepy Puppy. The Canucks are playing tonight!
I cant believe the schedule for this team. its ludicrous. It feels like we cant gain any momentum win or lose. It feels like we havent even been playing. I am losing all interest for each game with the length of delays I cant imagine how the players feel. The problem here is that the Canucks and many of their fans have had too much time off early in this season. Thankfully a game is actually being played tonight.
The Canucks Play the Avalanche in Vancouver returning from a 5 game road trip that saw the Canucks finish 2-3 with the last game being a 8-2 thrashing of the very same Avalanche. They will not have soon forgotten that. The Avs are also on their 3rd game in 4 nights having lost to Edmonton on Wed and beating Calgary on Tue. The Canucks are playing their 2nd game in 6 nights and 2nd in 8 nights. Lets hope the Canucks are not too tired. :/
I wouldnt expect any changes to the Canucks line up from last weeks game… sigh…… Last Week. Luongo in net. Daniel Sedin is supposed to return on Sunday but may be back tonight (remote possibilty). If Daniel is back then Wellwood will likely sit (not sure why, wouldnt his offensive power of 1 assist this whole season would be missed)
Will Anderson start in goal for the Avs, he has been lit up for 11 goals against Vancouver in their last 2 games played.
Go Canucks Go!
Canucks lost 3 in a row at the 1/4 point of the season.
Friday, November 13th, 2009The Canucks have lost 3 in a row and are now coming into the 1/4 point of the season.
This is the time for the Canucks to start gaining ground and burying their chances to move up in the Western Conference. At one time they were picked to be in the top 2 of the Western Conference and aside from a short streak of hot goaltending and a sizzling PP they have fizzled and been completley inconsistent in the season.
10-10 at the 20 game mark is not terrible considering they have lost almost 90 Man games to injury. And the people injured were key players.
Luongo out 2 weeks is now returned
Daniel Sedin out 4 weeks is still day to day and will most likely be out another 2 weeks
Pavol Demitra is most likely out for the season
Sami Salo was out almost 2 weeks
Jannik Hansen, Mats Schneider, and the list goes on and on.
Yet they remain .500 on the season and coming into the stretch where most teams find their game and start to climb in the standings?
Can the Canucks do that? Can they win on Saturday to salvage what may be a horrendous road trip that sees them at 1-3 with 3 straight losses.
The Canucks goalies have saved their bacon this year…. Lets reprhase that. Andrew Raycroft saved their bacon this year. Even when Luongo has won he was not the factor. Nor has he been the factor in the losses. That being said Luongo is BACK and has to start saving their bacon and become the factor. The Game Breaker. There is no better time than the present.
go canucks go
