Kyle Wellwoods agent has confirmed the Canucks will sign Wellwood for one more year. 1 year $1.2M. Good to have Welly back………..

The biggest highlight of the state of the franchise came when discussing the process of arbitration. BMac asked Gillis if a relationship with a player can become fractured during arbitration.

Gillis replied  “The only thing fractured in a meeting with Kyle would be if we brought a scale.â€

Supreme Court rejects Beedie and Gaglardi bid

The Supreme Court of Canada has rejected Tom Gaglardi and Ryan Beedie that they be part of the original ownership bid for the Vancouver CAnucks. BC supreme court ruled that neither of the business men were in business dealings with Aqulini at the time of bidding.

Gaglardi and Beedie now have to pay all of Aquilinis legal costs for the costs of defending.

Canucks first Regular season home game Oct 1st…

The NHL season will commence on Oct. 1 with an opening night that includes a Canadiens affair against the Toronto Maple Leafs at the Air Canada Centre and a Calgary Flames-Vancouver Canucks tilt at GM Place.

Two nights later, the Flames return home to entertain the Edmonton Oilers. The NHL also will have regular-season games in Europe for the third year in a row. On Oct. 2 and 3, the Detroit Red Wings and St. Louis Blues will play games at the Globe Arena in Stockholm, and the Florida Panthers and Chicago Blackhawks will meet for back-to-back matches at the Hartwall Arena in Helsinki.
